Children’s Movement for Civic Awareness   [CMCA]

This is a civic club programme for students of std VIII as a part of the SUPW classes [Socially Useful Productive Work]. This programme is co-ordinated with the help of an NGO. A representation or co-ordinator visits the school every Monday and engages the students of std VIII in a 40 minutes session. News of the activity of the CMCA programmes are featured in the monthly Newsletters of the School.

Some of the aspects that are discussed are

  • Active and responsible citizenship

  • Civic Sense

  • Rights and duties of a citizen

  • RTI – Right to Information Act

    • What it means and how it can be used.

  • Compiling a school profile [where students collect data about water resources and usage in school, electricity , greenery on the campus, waste management and so on]

  • Making suggestions if any to the School based on the School profile

  • Constitution

  • Judiciary

  • Democracy

  • Traffic Rules

  • Local Government

They also conduct some campaigns such as :
